What you are required to do depends very much on a number of factors. Are you on the lease with the owner of the property? Do you have a lease with the roommates or some other written agreement? Do you have money in the security deposit, because if so, the landlord is probably not required to return your portion to you. You should really contact a local tenant's rights attorney to review this and determine what your rights and obligations are.
